The Artist

WARTH was born in 1941 in Marbach/N. and lives and works in Waldbronn and Munich.

During more that 40 years of work WARTH experimented with various artistic genres and styles, including graphic arts, before finding the maximal creative expression of his thoughts and ideas in Minimalist Art and American Expressionism: "For me painting is an existential passion and the highest form of fulfillment".

The Suprematist Malewitsch and painters like Josef Albers, Mark Rothko, Jasper Johns and Willem de Koonings have made their mark on WARTH.

Selective and meaningful use of colors and color-layering have been at the heart of WARTH´s creative expression for the past 15 years. And so he brings the color red - elicitor of the strongest visual impulses such as love, warmth, energy and life - in contrast, in harmony and in abeyance with the color black - with its expression of desire, mourning, melancholy and infinity. The combination of colors with elementary and explicit compositions of form result in the desired effect: a concentration on the essential.
